The Big Deal response to British Gas & EDF price cuts - "pathetic"

The Big Deal press release 11th February 2016.

Responding to the news that EDF and British Gas are cutting their gas bills by just £31 a year when their average standard variable bill is £1,100 a year (EDF), and £1,075 a year (British Gas), Will Hodson of consumer collective the Big Deal, said:

"These cuts are pathetic. Whilst wholesale prices have plummeted, the Big Six have passed barely any savings on to families and instead pocketed the money. It's also deeply cynical for them to do this just weeks before the CMA publishes its report into the energy market. The Big Six are desperately trying to persuade people they are on their side but their disgraceful behaviour over the years shows otherwise."
